“It’s been rewarding for me to mentor Apex youth! It’s best seeing their smiles… seeing them learn life skills and have a good time growing with their peers. Many of them have become my friends. I cross paths with them as working adults now, and it’s great to talk with them about past times we’ve shared. As a mentor, you have a chance to be a kid again and enjoy working alongside youth as they grow.”

Volunteer
Since its inception in 2001, Apex (formerly the “CBC”) has relied on the help of dedicated volunteers and caring adult mentors. We are always recruiting volunteers to help with the various aspects of our programs from mentoring youth to facilities support to administrative needs. If you’re looking for a little way to make a big difference in the lives of community youth, please fill out our volunteer application.
Apex owes its success in getting youth out there in large part to the folks who generously contribute their time and talents to help make our youths' experiences as positive and impactful as possible.
There are many ways to get involved as a mentor or as a volunteer. You can join us on a group bike ride, play four square or pickleball outside, join us for board games and arts and crafts, or help out in our bike shop (no need to be an expert bike mechanic, just a willingness to learn and support!). We also have many different programs to help out in- Bike Bus safety stewards, STEM robotic lego classes, Junior Bike Mechanic mentors, and more! If you have a passion or hobby that you'd like to share with us, we're all ears. All roles provide opportunities to support Apex's work in meaningful ways.
In your application, please let us know what skills you might like to share and why you are drawn to this type of service to your community. We look forward to hearing from you!
