Challenging and guiding youth to their best futureApex Youth Connection challenges comfort zones and expands perceptions, gently pushing youth to set and reach goals they never thought possible. Our programs build youth up from the inside, making them stronger, more confident, and more competent.
At Apex, youth will . . . ✔ Go on adventures and learn new skills ✔ Learn from peers and adult mentors. ✔ Belong. |
"Apex helps me actually do things I want to do
and not just think about doing them."
The power of connection
Sometimes, just connecting with another person can make all the difference. At Apex Youth Connection, we’re all about CONNECTING! We connect youth grades 5-12 with their community, with the outdoors, and with a path to their future. What does that mean? It means that at Apex, we guide and support youth as they aspire, persist, and explore through

- outdoor adventures that include everything woods and water, from mountain biking to rock climbing to wilderness self-reliance skills
- introductions to incredible opportunities for the future, then connections to the people and places that can show them more
- meaningful connections with their community through service and opportunities to lead

"Apex makes me feel welcome.
Nobody judges anyone."

The power of supportApex is in the community, providing support for families and their kids and connecting with other partners and providers to help. Apex partners with the Biddeford/Saco/Dayton schools to ensure youth get the support they need and partners with the City of Biddeford to ensure families are connected to supports (check out the Apex Community Hub), because we know that’s the best way to help youth access their education inside and outside of the classroom. Imagine having dozens of adults in your corner
Nearly 30 caring, dedicated adults volunteer their time to mentor Apex youth.
Those who volunteer to become mentors are committed to creating the best experience possible, making Apex Youth Connection safe, supportive, and welcoming for every youth.
Staff at Apex have over 40 years of cumulative experience bringing out the best in kids, especially youth who may not feel safe or supported in other environments. While Apex staff are not therapists and do not do social work, we are fully committed to meeting the needs of our youth. If we cannot help, we’ll connect them with someone who can.
